    Head Of Marketing

    Job description

    This position is based at our offices in Welgemoed, Cape Town

    Key Responsibilities:

     

     

    • To develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy for SPW, building the brand amongst all stakeholder with the primary focus being on the following: Internal and external communication channels, below the line (collateral and events) and digital (newsletter, websites and social media)

    • Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral including, client communications, internal communications, public relations, newsletters and brochures.

    • Ensure that the marketing and communications strategy and plans are aligned to the Sanlam Group’s new brand positioning.

    • Assist when required in the roll-out of companywide initiatives including the international businesses.

    • Ensure communication is aligned to organisational standards.

    • Conduct regular monitoring, analysis and review of marketing initiatives with the implementation of a formal ROI structure for reporting to senior management.

    • Manage and ensure the development and continuous upskilling of the marketing team in accordance with the relevant regulatory requirements.

    • Manage the implementation of the Marketing strategy, provide regular progress reports to the National Sales Manager, Chief Executive Officer SPW SA and senior management team.

    • Monitor the Company’s commercial and competitive brand positioning within the marketplace and recommend strategic initiatives or plans to the National Sales Manager for further discussion and analysis. 

    • Assist with the development and production of SPW product and services marketing material (below the line collateral, presentations etc.)

    • In conjunction with the Client Experience/Business Intelligence Manager ensure that appropriate research is carried out (by internal and/or external personnel) to support the Company’s sales and marketing activities.

    • Assist to establish and maintain effective procedures, systems and controls in Marketing to manage risk and ensure sound operational implementation of all Marketing strategies and initiatives.

     

    Minimum Requirements:

     

    • Marketing qualification essential

    • Experience of 5-7 years in Marketing within the financial services industry is essential

    • Good understanding of Ultra and High Net Worth Clients within the wealth management/investment environment

    • Strong track record in developing and implementing marketing and communication strategies with a focus on the below the line, PR and digital environments.

    • Ability to translate High Net Worth and Ultra High Net worth client requirements into marketing strategies

    • Excellent knowledge of the South African market for financial products and services. Global market knowledge and experience will be advantageous.
    • Sound knowledge of regulatory acts impacting on financial services such as TCF and POPI.
    • Ability to explain company’s product offerings and comprehensive knowledge of how Investment Proposals are put together.
    • Sound knowledge of digital marketing
    • Good knowledge of branding within the Ultra and High Net Worth environment

    Ability to:

    • Project and present a professional image and communicate effectively.
    • Define and respond to existing and potential clients’ needs and expectations. 
    • Contribute to the development of the business as an individual and as a leader.
