    Sales Distribution Manager

    Job description

    Distribution Sales Manager

    • Industrial Distribution Sales Experience
    • A multinational bearing manufacturer and distribution company is looking for an experienced Distribution Sales Manager to be based in Johannesburg. This individual will engage in every aspect of the local distribution enterprise, including business plans, sales & marketing, brand building, finance, Information systems, problem solving, inventory planning, forecasting and relationship management.

    Minimum Requirements include:

    • 10+ years of sales experience, with at least 5 years at a management level
    • Industrial Distribution sales and management experience is non-negotiable
    • Technical, Sales, Business Management or Engineering degree (4-year)
    • Solid background of products and service knowledge together with a proven history of sales results, successful problem solving and the generation of new opportunities

    Responsibilities & Duties include:

    • Managing all company interactions, including searching for new business, developing and executing sales and margins, managing channels, interfacing with international associates, managing sales team to increase penetration to reach deep into our distributors to develop strong relationships
    • Develop business plan consistent with objectives of South Africa for sales and profit
    • Develop and execute strategy and tactics that support achievement of KPI’s and customer satisfaction measures
    • Coordinate and execute tactics for product and service introductions and programs that are developed by market, product and channel
    • Create a successful matrix interface and provide direction and feedback to the relevant internal departments
    • Responsible for achieving sales volumes, distribution, pricing and stock level objectives
    • Ensures that all records are continually updated and maintain individual contact with key customers and management
    • Manage sales and margin for both local and export market for both Industrial and Automotive AM
    • Lead and influence the sales force to achieve established business objectives for Distribution
    • Develop, coach and motivate sales team to be effective and efficient
    • Report to international platform
    • Create sales target and forecasts
    • Develop pricing strategies / model
    • Sales promotions
    • Inventory planning
    • Formulate Distributor agreements
    • Appoint Distributors or agents
    • Negotiations – Sales
    • Sales Contract Review
    • Formulate Business Plans
    • Market intelligence
    • Manage KPI/KPA required for the sales team
    • Grow top and bottom line earnings
    • Formulate Strategy & Tactics
    • Compile, analyse and interpret and submit reports
    • Presentations to customers
    • Key account Management
    • Servicing of existing customers and New Business Development
    • Increase Face to Face time with customers
    • Prepare plant tours and attend to visiting customers
    • Provide direction and leadership & motivate sales team
    • Remuneration Package details:

    • R850,000 – R980,000 cost to company per annum
