Business Development Executive at The South African Breweries (SAB)

Job description

The SAB Thrive Fund is seeking to place a top-calibre Black candidate into a high-growth SAB supplier that designs, prototypes, manufactures and distributes point-of-sale (“POS”) marketing materials, including indoor/ outdoor, non/ illuminated, shelf/ cooler brand and price displays.

The successful candidate will be central to the business’ succession plan, forming part of the leadership team, learning from the MD, taking responsibility for a function, and earning equity by creating value.

Based in Johannesburg, the business has an excellent track record of delivery for some of the most discerning FMCG brands in the world. It is now poised for growth within the SAB supply chain in South Africa, in the rest of Africa (e.g. exports to Nigeria) and around the globe (e.g. exports to Brazil). The successful candidate will drive this growth.

Key requirements:

• Industry-leading technical skills and relevant expertise, including – business development and/or sales expertise to drive growth (exposure to African and global markets would be advantageous); industrial design and product engineering credentials; and/or manufacturing management experience to expand production capacity
• Highly-developed management skills, honed through 3+ years of active leadership roles in professional settings;
• High EQ, empathetic; strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• High need for achievement, self-starting with deep intrinsic drive to deliver on targets;
• Excellent business and financial acumen;
• Flexible and adaptable, able to excel in unstructured environments and cope with uncertainty;
• Self-confident, resilient; and able to persevere through challenging circumstances;
• Preferably 5-10 years of professional experience; and
• Undergraduate degree and/ or MBA or comparable postgraduate/ professional qualification
