    Business Development Manager

    Job description

    Purpose for the Job

    • Work in conjunction with the Account Manager to drive brand specific or category sales in order to achieve sales and product targets. Manage and develop relationships with allocated customers as well as the vendor and Tarsus and Group sales teams.
    • Your success in this role will be achieved by demonstrating your ability to:
    • Plan approach to achieving allocated targets every quarter, using knowledge of market dynamics and client insights to inform sales strategy.
    • Identify opportunities to sell on to existing clients, involve the relevant internal people to secure a deal which achieves targeted returns.
    • Monitor monthly sales statistics within existing clients, identifying reductions in sales volumes and follow up with the relevant stakeholders timeously to prevent loss of business.
    • Sell the breadth of the core Tarsus product offering in conjunction with the product teams into the allocated customer base.
    • Strong collaboration and focus on sales enablement with the Tarsus sales team.
    • Identification of new potential customers to grow and enable them.
    • Organise specific events for clients in collaboration with Marketing, obtaining budget approval from Manager.
    • Meet with customers regularly, engaging with decision makers to establish rapport and build sound relationships
    • Assist Re-sellers with pricing and contractual information to inform their tender processes.
    • Check that accounts are up to date, highlighting money outstanding as appropriate.

    Qualifications and Competencies required:

    • Grade 12, relevant tertiary qualification
    • Good track record in achieving revenue and gross profit targets.
    • At least 3-4 years’ experience in product and account management is essential
    • Minimum of 3-5 years corporate IT sales and account management experience
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite
    • Strong project management skills
    • Good understanding of the ICT industry and the ability to keep up with Technology and Industry Developments.
    • Brand specific knowledge of product and processes
    • Sales skills and technical knowledge
