Requirements

The candidate must have:

• At least 5 years’ experience in IT Operations Management
• A good understanding of AWS and Azure
• Experience in managing skilled technical teams
• Good interpersonal skills
• Exceptional networking knowledge
• Exceptional firewall knowledge
• The ability to define, implement and document processes
• A good understanding of DevOps
• Tertiary Qualification in ICT or Telecommunications

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership

SaaS Infrastructure, who are responsible for:

• Managing the co-location data centre hardware or could platforms
• Hypervisors
• Capacity planning
• High availability
• Business continuity
• Security
• 3rd level system performance diagnostics and fault finding
• Continuous improvement of infrastructure monitoring
• SaaS DBA, who are responsible for:
• All database administration
• Software deployment
• 3rd level application performance diagnostics and fault finding
• Continuous improvement of application and database monitoring

Other responsibilities include:

• Monthly reporting on system wide metrics and outages
• Escalations of issues or outage
• Coordination of teams during outages or maintenance
• System architecture
• Resource planning
• Engaging with various external vendors or partners
• Managing various projects and migrations
• Software deployment planning
• Strategies for continuous improvement and driving hosting cost down
• Documentation
• Compliance and certification (ISO/27001, ITIL)
• Process optimization
• Overall system security and data privacy
