    Retail Engineering Technician

    Job description

    Key Purpose

    Undertake assignments and supervise others so as to ensure that the design, construction, maintenance and operation of the company’s physical assets and facilities are at all times constructed and maintained to all applicable standards and regulatory requirements for Retail.

    Key Responsibilities Finance

    • Business Processes

    • Specific Outcomes Forecast Management
    • Determine project forecast for year ahead

    Cost Control Management

    • Track monthly CAPEX spend
    • Monthly CAPEX reports generated
    • Manage cost control processes
    • Report on budget variances
    • Authorise expenditure within LOA

    Infrastructural Design

    • “Scope of Works” produced and signed off by the customer and Maintenance Manager
    • Operates as per design and “Scope of Works
    • Design documented, meets requirements of customer/client
    • Budget estimates for business plan
    • Improved infrastructure efficiencies i.e. delivering more, as per project motivation.
    • Minimised incidents

    Engineering standards and design

    • Designs are aligned to relevent codes and best practices
    • Engen facilities maintained in line with accepted standards

    Project Management

    • MOC Management
    • Operational as per project plan
    • Successful management of approved Funds with no over expenditure
    • Successful handover of Projects and “backup” support
    • Design documented, meets requirements of customer/client
    • Contractor supervision
    • Project resources required to perform the works

    Infrastructure Maintenance

    • Verification, assessment and reporting of maintenance requirements
    • Re-furbishment of existing equipment in order to justify:
    • Reduced downtime
    • Extension of asset life
    • Minimize company expenditure

    Project Cost Estimation

    Conceptual design and estimations of sufficient detail to enable business decisions to be made

    Customer and Stakeholder Coordination

    • Coordinate adherence to customer and stakeholder policy and procedure
    • Provide support and guidance to customers
    • Adheres to customers SLAs
    • Conduct audits on customer for compliance to governance and business procedures

    Contractor Liaison

    • Liaise with contractor on deliverables
    • Follow up on timelines and performance measures
    • External Stakeholder Engagement
    • Liaise with relevant authorities (e.g. JV partners, external consultants, NGO's, government, local departments etc.)
    • "HSEQ Compliance Management
    • Mandatory & Company audits
    • Participation and support of audits
    • Audit findings closed as agreed with business
    • Meets objectives of HSEMS and MCF with improvement
    • Initial environmental & emergency response / management
    • Ensure effective interface of customer/stakeholder HSEQ requirements with Engen
    • Comply to HSEQ policies and procedures
    • MOC Compliance

    Education & Experience

    • National Diploma (S4) in Mechanical Engineering
    • + 2 - 7 Years related experience
    • General engineering knowledge
    • Basic understanding of the requirements of the Petrochemical industry
    • Working knowledge of civil engineering standards and practices
    • Valid Drivers license

    Knowledge, Skills & Attributes Skills

    • PC Literate – with working knowledge of MS-Projects, MS-Office
    • Working knowledge of CAD
    • Knowledge of relevant SAP R3 modules & functionalities
    • Good communication skills (verbal, written)
