Key Responsibility Areas:

• Plan the specific audit in conformity with generally accepted auditing Standards.
• Conduct all encompassing audits (Risk and Compliance; Value for Money; Contract Auditing; Performance Management and Financial Auditing in accordance with the Cluster/Unit Audit Plan).
• Report on Audit findings.
• Follow up on the agreed Audit recommendations to ensure compliance.
• Control and direct the activities of subordinate staff.
• Provide consulting services as directed by the Senior Audit Manager.
• Keep abreast of the new developments and techniques in the Audit profession.
• Represent the Unit.
• Conduct Forensic Auditing in accordance with the service level agreement with the Ombudsperson.
• Provide administrative support to the Senior Audit Management.
• Recruitment of subordinate staff as directed.

Key Responsibility Areas:

• Rendering complex internal audit assurance organisation-wide taking into account applicable legislations, standards and best practice.
• Provide a strategic and high level internal auditing service throughout the Municipality, focussing on areas of complexity.
• Provide integrated risk assurance of corporate organisations and entities as well as the provision of a specialised and transversal portfolio.
• Independently prepares a business case that presents the need for and effectiveness of audit projects and related interventions.
• Independently applies professional knowledge to structure project interventions and initiatives, processes, activities, timing and resourcing requirements.
• Independently manages projects execution processes associated with the implementation, monitoring and communication phase of audit projects.
• Independently evaluates the applicability and value adding benefit of the audit project.
• Assists the manager with the supervision of audit teams.

Qualifications
SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR (OPR) (LEVEL I) 12000202

Essential Requirements:

• Degree (NQF Level 7) or equivalent in Financial Accounting or Auditing with Auditing or Internal Auditing as a major.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 4 Years Internal Auditing Experience
• Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements:

• Post graduate qualification (NQF Level 8) or equivalent in Financial Accounting or Auditing with Auditing or Internal Auditing as a major and CIA/CA registration.
• 5 Years Internal Auditing Experience

Essential Requirements:

• Degree (NQF Level 7) or equivalent in Financial Accounting or Auditing.
• Plus 3 years articles (IAT or CIA will serve as an alternative to 3 years articles).
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 5 Years relevant experience.
• Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements:

• Post graduate qualification (NQF Level 8) or equivalent in Auditing.
• CIA or CA.
• 6 years relevant Auditing experience.
