Purpose of the job

Responsible for determining and installing cost accounting procedures to provide unit costs of products in terms of labour, services, materials and overheadsAnalyses and estimates costs of proposed new products and services.

Job objectives:

• Prepares, analyses and interprets regular schedules of cost of manufacturing and/or distribution.
• Prepares budgets
• Reconciliation, reporting and investigation of variances
• Evaluates proposed capital projects
• Determines and installs cost accounting procedures and methods in order to accurately account for costs per product
• Prepare and analys cost records
• Reports and conducts cost audits
• Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Cost accounting including:-

• Initiating and maintaining of company procedures and policies relating to admin and finance
• Managing risk and taking corrective action
• Budget preparation, monitoring and variance reporting
• Forecasting and financial projections
• Compiling of all required reports within set deadlines
• Perform daily processing of manufactured products onto the financial system
• Performing of month end stock counts and capturing on the financial system
• Prepare and assist with audits

Job specific requirements:

ERP system eg Microsoft Great plains or equivalent

Education and experience:

• Has 3 - 4 years' experience, in an FMCG or manufacturing environment, with a post Grade 12 qualification, or 6 - 10 years' experience, in an FMCG or manufacturing environment, without a qualification.
• CIMA qualification
