    Senior Sales Executive

    Job description

    A Cape Town based IT and Service Management company and software reseller is seeking a Senior Sales Executive to join their team. Must have minimum 5 years IT sales experience with a focus on Security in the IT industry. Salary is approx. R45K/m, basic salary excl. Commission.

    Duties

    • Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business for the organization’s products/services.
    • Promoting/selling/securing orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
    • Demonstrating products and services to existing/potential customers and assists them in selecting those best suited to their needs.
    • Meeting with customers over the phone, email, or on site to assist in technical aspects of business development and sales
    • Making technical presentations and demonstrating how our products meet client needs
    • Managing and interpreting customer requirements - speaking with clients to understand, anticipate and meet their needs
    • Make telephone calls and in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
    • Research sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
    • Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
    • Relationship building
    • Researching the market and related products
    • Presenting the product or service in a structured professional way face-to-face
    • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
    • Co-ordinate sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups.
    • Analyze the territory/market’s potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customer’s value to the organization.
    • Create and manage a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities.
    • Plan and organize personal sales strategy by maximizing the Return on Time Investment for the territory/segment.
    • Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
    • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
    • Participate in trade shows and conventions.
    • Build and maintain links with channel partners and agents
    • Evaluate customer research, market conditions and competitor data
    • Service existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
    • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
    • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
    • Provide historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
    • Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas.

    Requirements

    • Minimum 5 years sales experience in the selling of technology or software development products and/or services with a focus on Security in the IT industry.
    • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach).
    • Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
    • Fluent in English (written & verbal)
    • Must be able to travel both within South Africa and abroad.
    • Valid driver’s license and car.
    • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and sales force management software.
