    Transactor - Trade and Working Capital (Africa)

    Job description

    Purpose:

    To generate revenue by originating and structuring deals, following due diligence, paying out and managing the client on an ongoing basis.

    Responsibilities:

    Generate revenue at acceptable risk-return levels:

    • Originate deals by engaging with Coverage and Clients;
    • Structure the deal to match the client’s requirements in relation to the banks risk appetite;
    • Interpret annual financial statements to determine the deal structure;
    • Compile a specialist credit report, term sheet and/or information memorandum, description of the Debt Package, the offer etc.
    • Present the structured transaction with the outline of the proposed solution to the client;
    • Consider other risks such as operational and management of deal structure Follow due diligence to validate clients business model;
    • Gain credit approval;
    • Implement the transaction and manage the deal conclusion forum;
    • Provide input to draft legal agreements and manage the process accordingly;
    • Ensure the client is satisfied.

    • Build and maintain professional working relationships with all stakeholders, displaying excellent abilities to initiate dialogue, listen, advise, influence and negotiate to achieve win-win outcomes;
    • Initiate meetings with key stakeholders to track progress, manage expectations and ensure stakeholders’ requirements are delivered;
    • Preserves relationships despite airing conflicting views and seeks mutual gains when addressing conflicts;
    • Anticipates consequences and adapts problem solving based on continual feedback;
    • Act speedily to resolve problems, queries and complaints;
    • Adapt communication styles to meet the needs of different audiences.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Minimum BCom, B.Eng or LLB Degree; CA(SA), CFA, MBA qualifications advantageous;
    • Minimum 5 years relevant working experience in Credit or Deal Making; Experience with resources will be a distinct advantage
    • Demonstrable relationships with   resource companies at a senior level
    • Thorough understanding of distribution methods in the trade finance environment including risk participation, club deals/syndication as well as insurance and product knowledge in structured lending products.
