    Business Development Manager

    Job description

    Responsibilities

    • To grow Chryso SAF &  a.b.e. Construction Chemicals’ business outside the borders of South Africa and by working with the various sales regions, to implement an export strategy and tactical plans of action in order to achieve the export targets as well as the Strategic Marketing Objectives.
    • Extensive travel into S.S.A. is a specific requirement and experience in this regard is non-negotiable.
    • To market and sell the company’s products and services to all categories of consumer groups in the export markets who buy admixtures and construction systems and to ensure that Chryso and a.b.e are the preferred brands. To market and sell the company’s products and services to all the key account customers in the export market.

    Main Responsibilities and Tasks

    • Implement all facets of the Marketing Plan related to Exports and ensure proper market coverage and growth potential in all market segments
    • Produce the annual sales export budget.
    • Implement the sales strategies for the export regions as agreed with the General Manager: Marketing.
    • Maintain and enhance our competitiveness in export markets by regular contact with influencers.
    • Grow existing customer base and develop export sales.
    • Liase with operations and provide expert assistance in the delivery process of export orders and deliveries.
    • Maintain database; the gatherings, evaluation and reporting of all relevant marketing information.
    • Monitor and report all competitive export activities.
    • Administer and control export sales orders and manage the distribution thereof.
    • The timely submission of all export related business reports.
    • Proactively seek new business opportunities and identify new needs and wants in the marketplace. Gathering of Market intelligence by visiting countries with growth potential.
    • Implement and control the company’s pricing strategy.
    • Advise the C.E.O. & C.O.O. on pricing matters; maintain margins according to agreed parameters.
    • Monitor and control total export Sales department’s expenses.
    • To ensure that the maximum effective allocation of sales departmental resources is achieved, cost effectively.
    • To initiate new ways and means of developing sales opportunities and by working through colleagues and the Head Office team, increase our business at a profit.
    • The reporting of marketing information encompassing inter-alia, customers, competitors economic and credit information.
    • Promote the company, its image and reputation.
    • The protection and maintenance of the territory’s customer base
    • Monitor and report on all competitive activities inclusive of admixtures, waterproofing materials, Construction products, etc. by the accurate maintaining of market share movement.
    • Maintain open communication channels between colleagues, Sales Department staff, C.E.O., C.O.O.
    • Handle all customer product quality complaints and back-up services.
