    Associate Consultant

    Job Description

    Job Purpose

    Control Risks is seeking an Associate Consultant to join our Data Analytics team within the Compliance, Forensics and Intelligence group. The Associate Consultant will be responsible for providing data analytics and consulting services as they relate to complex litigation and corporate investigations.

    The successful candidate will assist corporation, legal teams, and regulatory entities with data identification, modelling, and analytics. They will also support and collaborate with the existing Compliance, Forensics and Intelligence team to deliver services and work product to meet and exceed our clients’ expectations and company standards. Travel may be required.

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    • Identify, organise and interrogate data to assess completeness and appropriateness for analysis
    • Identify and understand relationships between multiple data sources and types
    • Create and design data queries, procedures and reports to address client requests and project strategies
    • Analyse and interprets financial, operational and transactional data
    • Prepare written analyses, summary reports, presentations and other client deliverables for projects and work performed
    • Create and maintain documentation of assumptions, methodologies and information sources throughout the project lifecycle
    • Participate in client meetings on project management, strategy and deliverables

    Knowledge and Experience

    • 2-4 years working in finance, accounting, or other relevant industry with an emphasis in analytics and complex problem-solving
    • Experience manipulating large amounts of complex data and interpreting results
    • Experience working in a collaborative and team-oriented environment
    • Familiarity with phases of litigation, preferred but not required

    Qualifications and Specialist Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study
    • Advanced knowledge and experience with MS Excel including modelling and data pivoting skills
    • Experience working with Microsoft Access, SQL, Oracle, VBA and/or other database applications
    • Familiarity with software and tools such as Tableau, SAS, Java and SharePoint
    • Ability to leverage technology to solve problems
    • Excellent written and oral presentation skills to effectively communicate with diverse audiences of varying degrees of expertise
    • Excellent interpersonal and client service skills
    • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while effectively juggling competing demands and evolving priorities
    • Strong organizational, project management skills
    • Strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and motivation to succeed.
