Job Description

• To provide an emergency service in the restoration of electricity supply to customer after it has failed. Undertake repairs of all types and sizes on MV and LV overhead mains and LV Cables, customer service connections and street lighting emanating from fault conditions. Carrying out reconnection of customer supplies and switching operations.
• Responsible for rectifying unsafe conditions on the electrical distribution network. To work safely during the restoration of electricity supply to customers and promote safety and accident prevention in the workplace.
• Responsible for training, supervising, motivating and disciplining of apprentices and subordinates.

Qualifications
Essentail Experience

• 3 Years experience in the installation and maintenance of all types of equipment found on a distribution network.
• Preferred Experience 4 Years experience with, and a thorough knowledge of eThekwini Electricitys distribution and technical practices.
• Deemed competent for overhead mains construction and maintenance up to and including 11kV. , Deemed competent for underground mains constru
• Essential Qualifications In possession of a NTC2 or NCV3 in Electrical Engineering from a Further Education and Training College registered with the Department of Education., Must be a qualified electrician who has served an apprenticeship recognized by the Department of Labour.,
• Must be an Authorised Person in terms of the Safety Rules and System Operating Regulations, or be in a position to obtain same within 6 months of appointment.
