    Consultant, Compliance Consulting and Delivery

    Job description

    Job Purpose

    Understanding the strategic priorities and business of the business areas as well as jurisdictional impact to fully unpack compliance capability requirements. Ensures aligned compliance calendar execution. Ensures awareness creation of the Compliance Training Governance Framework amongst business. Thinking differently about training delivery in the group – per business line, jurisdiction or levels of staff. Building a professional consulting and delivery area that is pro-active, commercially pragmatic to understand and scope business requirements and to provide innovative training solutions.

    Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

    • Consult with the relevant Business heads and in collaboration with Business Compliance Officers, Risk and Group Internal Audit enabling the design and development of compliance training solutions for the specific business areas.
    • Identifying the risks pertinent in the business and the mandatory and awareness training that need to be implemented.
    • Identifying the Compliance capabilities for roles within the business area.
    • A Compliance Capability Architecture is drawn up for each business area, being role specific where relevant.Assist with performance improvement of the business area through performance consulting and measurement of training in as far as it pertains to Compliance Capability
    • Calculating the Return on Investment and Return on Expectations with regards to the Compliance Capabilities as built in the business areas.
    • Designing and developing a return on investment/return on expectation model for the business area, to measure the impact of compliance training and awareness activities in the business.
    • Ensures the Compliance Capability Architecture for the business areas are recorded correctly in the Rule Book and signed off by the Compliance Capability Committee.
    • Works in collaboration with the Content and Development area to ensure the information is reflected correctly in the Rule Book.
    • Ensures that from a training reporting perspective the correct rules are applied to measuring training competence.
    • Delivery of training where required.
    • Ensures that within Executive Committees and other forums within the business areas the required face-to-face training is delivered, either through delivering sessions or by contacting the relevant subject matter expert where this is required.
    • Ensures that sign-on sheets for face-to-face sessions get sent to the Communication, Change and Coordination area for capturing.
    • Fulfils the internal quality assurance function of Compliance Capability Build
    • Designs and develops processes in collaboration with Group Learning and Development to ensure the business areas and Compliance Capability Build follows the correct procedures as laid down in Standard Bank’s accreditation documentation with the Bank Seta.
    • Performing periodic internal quality checks to ensure compliance with the quality assurance procedures and processes.

    Preferred Qualification and Experience

    • Minimum qualification 3-Year Business Degree, or ODET Certificate or Diploma
    • Preferred Qualification BCom or BTech
    • Qualification in Compliance/Legal certificate/diploma would be an advantage
    • 7-10 Years Human Capital Experience
    • 5-7 Years Independent Assurance Experience

      • The ability to engage with leadership, managers and employees using a consultative and engaging approach while balancing the needs of the employee with that of the employer.
    • Learning and Development Strategy
      • Ability to analyse current and future competence gaps and develop and provide a full range of learning options to help employees with the skills to meet organisational goals
    • Business Acumen
      • The ability to analyse business financial performance as well as competitor and external factors as it would apply to the people practice in the organisation. The ability to analyse the business specific language and business processes in order to support them effectively. This would be with through a specific Compliance Capability lens.
