    Senior Analyst, Enforcement & Exemptions Division

    Job description

    (A starting annual total cost to company package of 626,881.65, negotiable commensurate with experience)

    One fixed year term contract

    Minimum Requirements

    • Honours degree in Economics or LLB Degree. Masters in Economics or LLM will be given preference.
    • 3-5 years Economics or Legal experience, it would be advantageous if this was in a Regulatory environment.
    • Experience in competition law will be an advantage.
    • Strong investigative acumen.
    • Proven project management experience of working in a multi-disciplinary investigation teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in managing and conducting complex investigations regarding possible contraventions of the Act.
    • Assist with the legal/ economic analysis of cases.
    • Present verbal and written reports and recommendations to the Managers and the Commissioner for decision-making.
    • Act as a representative of the Commission within the framework of the Competition Act when communicating with business, consumers, employer/ employee representatives and other government agencies.
    • Lead investigation teams, with assistance from the Senior Investigator/Senior Analyst.
    • Brief legal counsel on matters to be referred to the Competition Tribunal.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • The ability to pro-actively interact with management and team members.
