    Sales Representative

    Job description

    We have an exciting opportunity for Sale Representative experienced in selling Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) products & solutions to join Johnson Controls. This is a brand new role as we create and establish a new team to develop and grow our market share of this product range in South Africa. This role will be based and working form our office in Isando.

    As a Sales Representative you’ll be responsible for the sale and promotion of complete technical Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) solutions which include the Pioneer, Grand, Mini VFR and Amazon series. You will be focused on developing and growing our market share with new business customers (contractors, consultants and end users) across all industry sectors, delivering against a set target.

    To apply and be considered for this role you must have a proven sales track record of complete Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF/VRV) solutions with additional experience of working in a front line sales position, selling direct to the customer. It is essential that you also have the capability to design technical solutions, select equipment, advise customers on possible solutions and close the sale.

    Role Responsibilities

    • Seeks out, qualifies and closes new sales opportunities, with a specific focus on new business growth.
    • Creates competitive, high quality and timely estimates, bids, proposals, and cost/benefit analysis. Verifies new proposals and bids with manager prior to customer presentation. Negotiates value and impact to the customer’s business in order to close the sale.
    • Applies knowledge of competitor’s business strategies, products and services to favorably differentiate Johnson Controls from them.
    • Negotiates terms & conditions and ensures that Johnson Controls’ financial standards are fully adhered to.
    • Builds and manages long-term customer relationships/partnerships and responsible for customer satisfaction through executing the sales process.
    • Utilizes applicable sales tools effectively to plan and document progress as well as to increase business growth.
    • Keeps manager informed of changes in the marketplace and progress on customer status. Calls for assistance from manager to keep the sales process moving.
    • Participates in professional organizations and appropriate trade shows.

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • To join this passionate and driven business to business sales team it is essential that you have a proven track record sales of VRF/VRV solutions and can deliver against set revenue targets.
    • Your application must demonstrate:
    • Education qualification – Technical Tertiary education in Mechanical Engineering field or equivalent through experience
    • At least 3 years of experience in Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems
    • 5-8 years of active experience in a front line sales position
    • Suitable technical knowledge relevant to the Air Conditioning industry
    • Ability to design technical solutions, select equipment and advise customers on possible solutions
    • Ability to influence key stakeholders in the customer’s buying decision process
    • Proven ability to develop & execute sales activities for both new and existing customers
    • Tireless, results driven, strong sales drive and a hunter mentality
    • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
    • Professional proficiency of English language is essential
