High interaction and coordination with underwriting, cross functional collaboration including, but not limited to Products, Finance, Claims, and Policy Processing.
High interaction via telephone, e-mail, or in person with external customers delivering customer service, and obtaining/providing information as needed.
Communicate with others to answer questions, reviewing files, records, and other documentation as needed; disseminate or explain information, take direction, and address complaints.
Conduct preliminary deal analysis; prepare applicable account data for review by underwriter or client manager.
Read, organize and work with detailed source documents from external customer information, determine appropriate next steps.
Support Originators in organizing and preparing data for client/broker meetings.
Compose business correspondence, as needed, with input from underwriter (if needed),
Occasional travel (20%) may be required to attend meetings, seminars, and programs to learn about new processes and guidelines, learn new skills, and stay updated with the underwriting team supported.
Participate on special projects, as assigned.
Departmental and Team Support
Support Country Manager and Senior Originatorson on P&C and Agricultural Business
Admin related tasks, premium control and claims co-ordination
Submission pipeline control and systems entries
Attendance of broker and client meetings
External exchange and coordination with brokers and strategic partner
Ensures that policies and procedures are documented, kept up to date and are accessible to all
Provide specialised administration functions involving compiling and arranging data, making computations, laying out and preparing reports and Broking slips
Provide Project Management and Administration support to Department Senior Leadership Team
Assists the team during the development of major projects from commencement to completion.
Monitors progress of project activities and assists the team with corsales input when necessary. Schedules status updates and prepares supporting documents where necessary
About You
Post Matric qualification ie Business Administration / Insurance / Risk Management with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience within the insurance industry required; short-term insurance knowledge as well as a good understanding of the underwriting process is an advantage
Experience in working in an international environment and matrix organization
Solid project management skills
Entrepreneurial mindset and results driven
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Confident self-starter, able to work pro-actively, think ahead and multi-task in a fast moving, performance driven environment
Willingness to travel
Must be able to work flexible hours
Good command of the English language, verbally and written. A second language would be beneficial.
