    Senior Credit Assessor

    Job description

    Nedbank Retail and Business Banking

    Nedbank Retail and Business Banking takes care of all our individual clients, as well as businesses with an annual turnover of less than R700 million.

    Though our retail channels of more than 1 000 staffed outlets and 3 500 ATMs, we offer a full range of services, including: transactional banking; card solutions; lending solutions; deposit-taking; risk management; a range of investment products; and card-acquiring services for business.

    Job Purpose

    To recommend and or grant credit in order to place quality assets on to the book and continued risk management across Nedbank.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Portfolio Quality
    • Managing and maintenance of the Hub portfolio, as measured in terms of poor performing accounts, loss ratio and quality assessments.
    • Minimising operational risk by adhering to policies and procedures.
    • Minimising credit risk through informed decisions, adhering to policies and procedures.
    • Identify risk that may influence portfolio quality such as (i) Dealer Risk, (ii) Process Risk and (iii) Assessment Risk
    • Approval Ratio
    • Ensuring that the optimal approval ratio per scoring categories is achieved.
    • Minimise the opportunity cost on good business lost due to incorrect assessment.
    • Making decisions on system overrides with sufficient reasons and supportive motivations.
    • Managing high-end and low-end overrides within acceptable norms and ensuring sufficient reasons are captured supporting overrides done

    Minimum Requirements

    Preferred Qualification

    BCom, BTech or Diploma in Credit

    Minimum Experience Level

    • 5 years in Banking within Credit environment
    • 3 years’ experience in Vehicle Asset Financing more specific granting of credit as per an allocated mandate
    • Minimum of R600 000 Vehicle assessment mandate
