WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Gendac is looking for a skilled user interface and user experience designer. The UI/UX designer will work as part of a team of software developers. The successful candidate must be able to work with clients to design user interfaces that enable an optimal user experience.

THE APPLICANT MUST HAVE:

• Appropriate university degree (BA Information Design, B.A Visual Communication, B.Com Informatics, etc)
• At least four years’ experience working with user interface and user experience design as part of a team of software developers
• A portfolio of work
• A valid South African ID and driver’s licence

GENDAC UI/UX DESIGNER: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take ownership of and accountability for the entire user interface and user experience design process. Assist a team of software developers to implement user interfaces and optimise the user experience.
• User experience and User interface design
• Meet with clients and design user interface look and feel
• Use graphic design tools to build user interface prototypes (wireframes)
• Storyboard user interface process flow
• Continually improve user interfaces by doing analyses and talking to users
• Assist a team of software developers to implement user interfaces
• Advise clients on usability best practices
• Test user interfaces
• Graphics and multimedia design
• Design and draft storyboards
• Design web interfaces and site maps
• Corporate identity design and branding
• Design and create training videos
• Design and create marketing material
• Design graphics for articles published to social media sites
• Corporate brand development

TECHNOLOGIES USED

• Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver
• Axure Pro used for wireframe design
• Full suite of Microsoft Office applications
• HTML 5 and CSS 3

SALARY

The salary is market-related and negotiable, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
