    Senior HR Specialist

    Job description

    This role will provide an efficient HR service in order to support the HR Director for South Africa to achieve the HR strategy for recruitment and retention for Stryker South Africa. Implementing and coordinating a wide range of HR tasks, initiatives and projects. Ensure quality, reliability and on-time delivery of administrative and other HR tasks. The role will also assist the General Manager, South Africa in the day to day running of their office and special projects.

    • Recruit
      • Manage the recruitment process of open positions
      • Ensure JD's are aligned with the current business needs and revised annually
      • Finalize employment agreements in line with local Labour Law and ensure accuracy in the hiring process steps, and assisting with benefits information and applications
      • Attract and retain quality employees with the best skills and qualifications to ensure that the Stryker standards and values are met and exceeded
    • Engage
      • Assist with the management of the Q12 process and support in relation to creation of master lists, special reports, status updates, and other reports
      • Support annual Q12 impact planning session
      • Coach line managers on the development and engagement of their teams
      • Co-ordination and leadership of quarterly meetings such as Talent Reviews and Employee Meetings as required
      • Propose, participate and lead social events
      • Track, order and distribute loyalty/long service awards and other awards programs
      • Revise and finalize Organizational Announcements
    • Develop
      • Support the process of the annual salary, bonus and Common Annual Review process for South Africa
      • Support internal and external audits for South Africa
      • Co-ordinate and lead induction programs for new employees
      • Support the training needs analysis process with key stakeholders and investigate and provide solutions accordingly
      • Deliver certain training courses including on boarding, management training, etc.
    • Compliance/Budget
      • Maintain documentation for employee changes for South Africa and ensure all related computer databases and systems are 100% accurate
      • Develop and maintain South Africa Employee Handbook
      • Employee relations including writing work certificates, managing the vacation database
      • Assess, monitor and audit payroll and remuneration process, benefits administration, including pension plans stock options and audits
      • Create process and system efficiencies around HR and payroll activities
      • Establish, document, communicate and enforce HR policies and practices for South Africa in line with local Labour Law requirements
      • Assess current benefit practices within the region, and propose changes and harmonisation when needed
      • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of legal changes and requirements affecting Labour Law in South Africa
      • Maintain Training Records for all Employees in South Africa
      • Maintenance of organisational charts and employee files
    • General Management Support
      • General day-to-day administration.
      • Probationary Period administration.
      • Co-ordination of temporary staff for all departments, ensuring correct documentation is completed and cleared through the appropriate channels
      • Provide daily confidential support for the General Manager including diary management and travel arrangements
      • Complete expense reports for General Manager on a monthly basis
      • Attend and minute important meetings, type up plans and communicate with direct reports
      • Co-ordinate employee communications and country team meetings

    Education

    Bachelor's level degree or equivalent

    Experience

    • 2 years of HR or learning and development experience
    • 2 years in a multi-national Company with similar level of experience
    • Familiar with HR compensation strategy, deployment and implementation
