Advanced Analytics Commercial Officer at BCX

Job description

• Lead the commercialisation of the new ‘Advanced Analytics | Big Data’ Unit that is being built.
• The role requires engaging with internal and external customers to build out a pipe-line of business for the Unit.
• This process requires deep analytical skills to set out the problem, note the data required to solve it and assist the Data Scientists in solving the problems.
• The Officer also must set out the high-level outputs and outcomes necessary for success per Use Case.
• The commercial role involves owning the up-front data gathering, then the handover and implementation of the solutions and the tracking thereof to ensure that value indeed is delivered over time.
• In addition to this the Commercial Officer must own the Data Monetisation strategy – and drive the end to end commercialisation of the data assets that Telkom has.

Job Objectives

• Building relationships with the client
• Building out a ‘replicable, commercial blue-print’ that can be scaled across clients
• Driving the commercial, business and pricing models of the Unit
• Identifying, engaging, specifying in detail and ‘selling’ Telkom ‘Advanced Analytics Use Cases’ that will unlock significant value for Telkom
• Identifying, engaging, specifying in detail and ‘selling’ external ‘Advanced Analytics Use Cases’ that will unlock significant value for BCX customers
• Assisting with the implementation of the Use Cases the Unit delivers
• Light touch tracking of the Use Cases delivered
• Working with the client to identify, map and retrieve the data required by the Lead Data Scientists for each Use Case
• Working with the Lead Data Scientists to translate the Business Requirements for them
• Building out a detailed Data Monetisation Strategy for Telkom
• Mapping out the business processes for each problem to identify the key data requirements to solve each problem

Education

• Post-graduate degree

• 10 years in an analytical environment
