Full Stack Developer at Platform 5

Job description

Platform5 is looking for a Full Stack Developer to join its rapidly expanding team. The Full Stack Developer must be motivated to explore new technologies and take on a lead technical role on projects. You should have strong experience in JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, and Git as well as a deep understanding of modern web technologies such as HTTP, REST and JSON. You should enjoy working with the full stack needed to finish a product. The right candidate for this role must have the desire to take an active role in defining how our applications work.

We need you to write beautiful, fast PHP to a high standard, in a timely and scalable way that improves the code-base of our projects in meaningful ways.

Required Experience

• 5 years + experience working with back-end programming languages (PHP, Python, Ruby, Java, .NET, JavaScript)
• Expert knowledge of object-oriented PHP
• Expert knowledge of PHP web frameworks. (Laravel)
• Understanding and implementation of security and data protection.
• Strong knowledge of the common PHP or web server exploits and their solutions
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
• Familiarity with limitations of PHP as a platform and its workarounds
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages
• Ability to design overall architecture of the web application.
• Ability to maintain quality of code and ensure responsiveness of applications.
• Ability to maintain code integrity and organization.
• Experience working with graphic designers and converting designs to visual elements.
• 5 years + experience working with web fundamentals like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
• Front-end (CSS) frameworks like Foundation or Bootstrap
• Proficient experience using advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as AngularJS, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS, DurandalJS
• Experience and understanding of deployment technologies, source control, and enterprise web application server architecture.
• Comfortable working within the linux command line
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
• Highly motivated individual with a focus on writing clean, well-tested, and scalable code
• Must have strong problem solving skills, with a solution orientated mindset.
