To deliver on the increasing workload and a robust future growth strategy we are looking for a suitably skilled and experienced Principal Risk Advisory Consultant to join and lead the team in Gauteng. Key Responsibilities:

• Providing risk advisory and consulting services to public and private clients
• Leading risk advisory in both project and operational environments with demonstrated qualitative, quantitative, advisory and technical reporting to ensure risk is optimally navigated to achieve success
• Maintaining and further developing relationships with a wide range of critical internal and external stakeholders and clients
• Leading and growing a team of up to 10 dedicated Risk Advisory professionals
• Drive eminence to ensure Aurecon remains leading in the asset base risk advisory market
• Project lead the technical risk expertise on major and large projects
• Engage, debate and produce customized risk models to inform decision making capabilities within varying levels of uncertainty
• Produce high quality technical reports

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Philosophy, Project Management, Engineering, Commercial or similar
• Extensive project experience at all phases of a project's life cycle and business optimisation, particularly ensuring projects are delivered in a healthy state and strategic business intent is met with operational performance to match
• A strong network within South Africa
• Experience with a range of risk models including Monte Carlo, Bayesian Networks, Decision Tree, Value Engineering and Risk Management Software
• A demonstrated ability to foster and evolve relationships
• An appreciation of risk and how this can influence client’s decisions
• Experience within energy, built environment, road, rail or port markets would be preferred, but not essential
• Hands on experience at all phases of a project’s lifecycle or business operations, particularly capital expenditure and operational efficiency
• >10 years project/operational/technological risk management experience with a special focus on Health, Safety, Environment and Quality.
• Sound experience in assessing risks within the ISO31000 framework
• Strong communication, facilitation and report compilation skills (high quality) is essential
