Job Description

• Safety
• Comply with all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) rules and regulations at all times. (e.g.10 critical safety rules and three obligations).
• Ensure safety job cards are completed in a timely manner.
• Daily plant safety assessments.
• Completion of task risk assessments prior to performing any work.
• Quality
• Report and correct defective equipment.
• Carry out daily checks and completion of check-sheets.
• Ensure no reworks or repeat failures.
• Exhibit good fault finding skills –standard approach e.g. 4SPS.
• Ensure all job cards are completed and inputted timeously.
• Ensure full SAP utilization.
• Housekeeping
• Maintain world class levels of housekeeping according to the 5’s housekeeping standards.
• Productivity
• Repairs, replacements, adjustments, installations, removals and overhauls, etc. on all forms of mechanical equipment and related equipment.
• Maintains a wide range of mechanical equipment such as pumps, fans, rolls, bearings, belts, chains, etc.
• Ensures adequate quality assurance and quality control on all work.
• Non-conformance reporting.
• Works with Team Leaders and Engineers to resolve reliability issues.
• Provides support to planned maintenance shuts and machine start-ups/shut-downs.
• Plant shut-down input and planning.
• Ensures critical equipment spare parts are checked and available.
• Support operating teams to achieve set KPI’s.

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified mechanical artisan with minimum 5 years post apprenticeship experience.
• Minimum 3 Years Experience In a FMCG Factory Environment.
• SAP knowledge and utilisation.
