Sales Representative at Mothers Polishes Waxes Cleaners

Reports to: Sean Lilley.

Overview

Sales Representatives will work closely with customers to grow and promote the sale of, but not limited to Mothers Car Polish Range (www.mothers.com; www.motherscarpolish.co.za). In doing so, achieving set targets, generating new business opportunities, qualifying leads, developing long-term customer relationships and managing customer accounts in the Gauteng.

The successful candidate needs to have developed established contacts through work experience in the motor and motor repair industry in Gauteng. Mothers is distributed buy CARTER Agencies, a company owned by Coolheat SA.

Responsibilities

• Represent CARTER in a professional manner at all times.
• Carry out business and or marketing plans set out by each brand.
• Achieve or exceed targets (sales and or units) for each brand, as set out by CARTER.
• Achieve or exceed new business targets as set out by CARTER.
• Identify and act on new business opportunities for CARTER brands.
• Develop and maintain profitable sales growth with current customers.
• Schedule regular, in-person customer meetings where required.
• Each customer to be engaged with in-person within an acceptable time frame.
• Establish a level of trust with each customer.
• Have a thorough technical knowledge of all items per brand and be able to demonstrate knowledge with authority.
• Maintain current with all brands product knowledge.
• Understand industry trends.
• Manage all customer requirements regarding CARTER brands.
• Follow up on and resolve customer complaints with in an acceptable time frame.
• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction at all times, in line with customer expectations.
• Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
• Weekly feedback to your Manager with regard to sales, customers, opportunities, challenges, competitor pricing, new competitor products, competitor marketing strategies and customer feedback. This to be discussed at every weekly status meeting.
• Maintain the necessary admin required and ensure its up to date at all times.
• Maintain awareness of customer future plans and payment performance.
• Have your own vehicle and valid drivers lisence
• Live in the Gauteng.


Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Ideally tertiary education.
• Proven track record in sales with in the sales / motor industry.
• Valid driver’s lisence and clean driving record required.
• Proficient level computer skills including Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word and Outlook) required.
• Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials effectively and accurately
• Strong and effective interpersonal, communication (both verbal and written)
• Proven ability to persuade and influence others.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• High attention to detail.
• Must have proven experience in closing deals.
• Strong ability to routinely work on multiple, unrelated tasks.
• Be coachable and have a desire to learn from others.
• Be consistently dependable, reliable and punctual.
• Must be a ‘self motivator’ and be able to thrive in a fast paced and highly competitive work environment.
• Have knowledge of sales promotion techniques.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule.

Remuneration

Market related Basic and Comission in line with experience.
