Job description
We are seeking an HR Officer, based in the Northern Cape, working for a leading mining organisation.
The role will require you to provide HR advice and support to the line managers and employees through the provision of services across the full range of HR activities, including learning and development, performance management, compensation, terminations, benefits, employee consultation, employee relations and incapacity management.
To support the Human Resource Manager in the delivery of the HR strategy, score card targets, goals and organisational effectiveness projects that focus on change management and transformation through effective project management.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Assist line managers in developing structures and roles that are well defined with aligned competencies and learning paths.
- Assist line managers in recruitment and selection to meet the operation’s current and future capability.
- Facilitate the identification, classification and development capabilities through talent management and the performance management standards and development initiatives
- Advise and guide line managers in maintaining sound employee relations through continuous coaching, consulting, and negotiating with various stakeholders
- Provides independent support and advice to comply with transformational and labour legislation and to proactively identify barriers to enable line management to manage transformational objectives
- Monitor good HR practises through HR reporting to line management to enable them to improve on people and talent management processes
- Compile, generate, analyse and report HR statistics for the company to facilitate quality decision making and meet legislative requirements within agreed rules and timelines.
- Manage the co-ordination and communication with all relevant stakeholders including management, employees and the union
- Provide education, support and change management to the organisation
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Degree in HR/ Industrial / Organisational Psychology
- Desirable: Honours Degree in Industrial / Organisational Psychology
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Essential: 5 years HR Generalist Experience
- Essential: 3 years in Organisational Development and Talent Management
- Essential: 3-5 years experience of Recruitment and Selection
- Essential: 3-5 years experience of Change Management
- Essential: 3-5 years experience of Project Management
- Essential: 5 years experience of Labour Legislation and its application
