Job description

RMB is looking for a Financial Resource Manager to join our Organisation. Candidates must have the following:

• Master’s degree (Maths, Statistics, Analytics preferred)
• Finance or Risk Degree
• Knowledge and application of the Financial Resource Management context. This includes knowledge of the relevant regulatory context i.e. BASEL
• Applied knowledge in a quantitative capacity
• Knowledge of existing RMB pricing architecture, methodologies and reporting and credit frameworks would be advantageous.
• The responsibilites of the role entail the following:
• Environment scanning
• Demonstrate an integrated knowledge of financial markets, industry value propositions, and competitors to enable best practice capital enhancement approaches
• Portfolio Management
• Understand the impact on capital, liquidity and credit positioning of macro-economic developments (global and local) to ensure that portfolio financial resources consumption is optimal to maximise shareholder value. This includes a review of optimal trade-offs between growth, risk and return, client strategy, product strategy and the setting of differentiated hurdles
• Have an in-depth understanding of the RMB products and processes to further enhance the portfolio management capabilities. This includes an understanding of the application of pricing models
• Function as an FRM Subject Matter Expert (SME) at relevant forums to better understand and anticipate the impact of regulatory and other legislation on RMB portfolios
• Set up predicative models as it pertains to the forecasting of liquidity, capital consumption and provisions to support portfolio optimisation
• Periodically review actual performance versus expected and provide insights into potential financial resources risks to targets not being met
• Analysis and Optimisation
• Perform in-depth analysis on the Return on Capital (ROC), capital and funding profile for RMB portfolios with the output being:
• meaningful commentary on portfolio shifts;
• identify areas of capital and funding optimisation;
• insight to assist to define client and product strategy
• Manage and execute on the optimisation initiatives as they pertain the capital and funding
• Facilitate the supply of appropriate management information as it pertains to capital, funding, client and product profitability
• Identify, communicate and implement optimisation initiatives to enable RMB to use financial resources (including credit capacity) optimally, to gain/retain clients and to be more competitive.
