    Job Description

    There is an opportunity for a seasoned sales professional to join Kuehne + Nagel as the Sales & Marketing Director for the Southern African Cluster. Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful individual will be responsible for all activities related to sales and marketing for the Company. Direct reports include National Key Account Managers and a Customer Solutions team.

    Your Tasks And Responsibilities

    • Attracting, developing and evaluating the Sales & Marketing team, including Customer Solutions Team.
    • Leading the team and ensuring that each team member will realize his/her full potential within the standard KN Sales team structure
    • Building very strong relationships with the decision makers of key customers in the country
    • Representing KN in front of market relevant audiences and ensuring the development of the respective customers through the Sales & Marketing team.
    • Carrying joint responsibility with the Business Unit Managers to sustain and improve customer loyalty and retention
    • Designing and implementing the national Sales strategy built on the regional sales priorities and strategy and in alignment with the national business unit strategy.
    • Securing a prosperous pipeline development and ensuring highest data accuracy in any internal system.
    • Ultimately accountable for the achievement of the national performance against targets and takes (corrective) actions as and when
    • required.
    • As a member of the Cluster management team responsible for the overall sustainable performance, growth and compliance of the entire national organization and overall net profit of the cluster countries.
    • Success is measured by financial kpi’s (GP, Volume, ROI) with specific customer retention targets and new/existing customer targets.

    Your Skills And Experience

    • Seasoned professional with proven experience in a Sales environment
    • Appropriate qualification, post graduate education will be a distinct advantage
    • Candidate will have the ability to function in a complex matrix environment
    • Extensive industry knowledge and deep commercial acumen
    • Drive & Energy to persevere and succeed in an emerging market environment
    • Healthy level of self confidence and stamina not to give up easily in complex situations
    • Realistic optimist who focuses on realising the opportunities despite existing challenges
    • Proven ability to interact positively with others and able to build lasting relationships and trust with all stakeholders
    • Passionate about selling and negotiating with the overarching goal to make all stakeholders successful.
    • Ability to identify suitable talent for the team and shape an organisation which fosters dialogue and the desire to deliver the best
    • Eloquent and able to transfer information to a diverse group of customers
    • High level of cultural awareness
