Job description

The applicant must have:

• An Appropriate university degree
• A qualification in graphic design or post-graduate specialisation in user interface design will be an advantage
• Four (4) or more years’ commercial experience
• A lifelong passion for computers and programming
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• The ability to work effectively in a team
• A valid South African ID and driver’s licence

Duties and responsibilities

• Take ownership of and accountability for the entire user interface and user experience design process. Implement user interfaces as part of a team of software developers.
• User-experience and User Interface design
• Meet with clients and design user interface look-and-feel
• Use graphical design tools to build user interface prototypes (wireframes)
• Work with other team members to implement the process flow in the user interface
• Continually improve user interfaces by doing analyses and talking to users
• Work as part of a team of developers to implement user interfaces
• Advise clients on usability best practices
• Business process design
• The role of the UI/UX engineer will be to assist the team by advising them on how business processes can best be supported by the user interface
• Software testing and Maintenance
• Automated unit, integration and UI testing
• Identify opportunities for enhancements to existing user interfaces

• C#, Java, HTML and TypeScript

Salary

The salary is market-related and negotiable, depending on relevant experience.
