    Product Development Finance Analyst

    Job description

    The purpose of this position is to support future vehicle programs by running the profit model and providing milestone financials, communicating with the functional teams to understand the physicals that drive the financial changes and support budget / business plan inputs.

    Position Details:

    • Provide program financial reporting for Tier 1 programs from <Project Start> until <Final Status Review
    • Maintain the existing Tier 1 profit models to support program financial reporting
    • Work with the PD Profit team to establish the profit model for new Tier 1 vehicles to provide robust financial reporting at each milestone review
    • Key interface with Lead Vehicle Engineering Activity (LVEA) and PD Profit team to align on profit model input and financial reporting
    • Work cross-functionally with the PD Program, PD Engineering, LVEA, Marketing, Purchasing and Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) teams to ensure alignment on management reporting
    • Provide business plan input with regard to programs to Finance Skill Teams
    • Support Budget and Business Plan assumptions
    • Prepare, develop and report out to the PD Finance Manager and PD Engineering Director on the PD Engineering month end, forecast, budget and business plan
    • Support subject-specific deep dives as required to understand program financial status
    • Support revenue and cost analysis, issue to issue analysis and cross-vehicle benchmarking
    • Lead presentation of Milestones and Financials to management team
    • Carry out other ad hoc assignments, support or activities as required by the business
    • Coach junior members in the team
    • Support process improvement and development of the PD Finance function
    • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Good communication and listening skills
    • Self-starter and team player
    • Good command of key IT tools, particularly MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • Should have good analytical, numerical and research skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Be able to present to senior management
    • Be able to work under pressure
    • Ensure deadlines are met
    • Proficient in English language
    • Microsoft Excel knowledge & experience

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
    • Minimum three years of experience in Finance/Accounting
    • Automotive experience would be beneficial
    • The role requires a solid demonstration of understanding knowledge on relevant aspects of financial analysis and applying them in practice
