    Locum Physiotherapist Acute Rehab

    Main Focus Areas

    • A vacancy exists for a Locum Physiotherapist within the Acute Rehabilitation Unit at EThekwini Hospital & Heart Centre. This successful candidate will report to Therapy Manager/Clinical Specialist. The Physiotherapist will provide holistic physiotherapy to in-patients requiring physiotherapy in the rehabilitation unit. The physiotherapists will provide an assessment of the patient’s level of independence in mobility and need for an assistive device required for mobility on admission in the rehabilitation unit.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical abilities, limitations, pain levels, range of motion, and mobility for patients with neurological disorders such as TBI, CVA, SCI, orthopedic conditions or multi-morbidity conditions such as Guillain-Barré syndrome etc. in collaboration with other therapy disciplines.
    • Assess all patient’s mobility risks upon admission and develop an individualized treatment plans based on these evaluations, considering the patient's medical history and specific rehab goals.
    • Design and supervise therapeutic exercises aimed at improving strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
    • Provide chest physiotherapy as requested for by the rehabilitation medical officer. Will be required to work some weekends and public holidays.
    • Educate patients and their families about the patient’s condition and on proper techniques and posture to prevent further injury.
    • Contribute to weekly team and family meetings.
    • Keep accurate and timeous records and reports.
    • Effectively respond to customer complaints and queries.
    • Function effectively as a part of an interdisciplinary team to meet the requirements of quality patient care.

    Clinical Programme Coordinator - Quality Management

    Main Focus Areas

    • To ensure effective implementation, management, and sustainability of clinical programs (e.g., cardiac, stroke, bariatric and trauma) aligned to international best practice and/or accreditation requirements. This is done in conjunction with Lenmed Group Managers. The role is also responsible for facilitating communication and engagement between multidisciplinary team (MDT) members via relevant clinical committees and coordinating all information and documentation for these forums. There is also a large focus on management of data registries and using data and outcomes to drive quality improvement initiatives with MDT members.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Understand clinical programmes and accreditation requirements, where applicable. This includes documentation requirements as well as the roles and responsibilities of all relevant stakeholders.
    • Influence key specialists in terms of the requirements of the programme from a doctor perspective and create alignment with internal HODs, Unit Managers and Manco members.
    • Conduct baseline assessments against programme/accreditation requirements to understand gaps and what needs to be implemented/closed.
    • Drive adherence to clinical committee terms of reference (TOR) jointly with Lead Clinician and Hospital CEO.
    • Compile case reviews, together with relevant clinician, to be discussed at committee meetings.
    • Perform daily rounds in wards/units.
    • Drive, with clinicians and allied professionals, referral to in-hospital rehab and ensuring patient vitals are monitored pre-and post- rehab sessions.
    • Identify QIP’s from process and outcomes data.
    • Conduct/ coordinate employee training based on the requirements of the clinical programme/accreditation – this is done in conjunction with the CF or HR.

    Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

    • Degree/Diploma in Nursing or Nursing education with critical care or specialist unit experience, e.g. (ICU or trauma background) or ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • Registration with SANC, if applicable
    • Updated BLS certificate
    • 3+ years’ business experience with exposure to quality improvement
    • Post-graduate degree / diploma in Quality / Safety Management would be advantageous
    • Private healthcare experience would be advantageous

    Case Manager Case Management

    RHHC Senior Professional Nurse

    Main Focus Areas

    • The role of a Senior Professional Nurse is to function as a competent clinical practitioner within their designated clinical area and to deliver direct patient care whilst co-ordinating and overseeing the nursing/ICU practice. To deputise for the ICU manager in his / her absence, driving forward evidence-based practice and taking responsibility for the supervision of staff and the policies and practices that operate within their clinical area.

    SPH Ward Administrator

    Main Focus Areas

    • The incumbent will have a dual role which involves stock control, billing and secretarial duties in the ward and also assisting the ward staff and the Unit Manager as may be necessary within reason.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Ensure tasks are completed within specified timeframes. Eg: daily billings in the morning
