    Senior Sales Engineer - Data Centre

    Job description

    Purpose Of Role:

    The role holder works as a key member of an account team to identify, design and sell BT products and services whilst providing a cost effective solution that satisfies the customer requirements.

    • Provides technical support to the sales team
    • Effectively engages other parts of BT to strengthen propositions and overcome barriers to success
    • Provides highly qualified technical advisory and consulting to customers
    • Interacts with customers for detail and technical standard product capability presentations, knowledge transfer and best practice methods to achieve required outcomes
    • Works closely with the sales team to compile technical proposals and BOMs to meet the customer requirements
    • Assists in delivery of projects to plan and within budget

    Key Responsibilities:

    • To function as the Solution Architect for standard product capabilities and portfolio offerings
    • To compile the scope of work for proposals, assessing customer requirements and required service level
    • To compile Technical Solution proposals to address customer’s requirements and technical objectives, as well as defining required benefit realizations
    • To compile and validate BOMs for proposals and work with partners, vendors and suppliers to source the most cost effective solution that best meets the requirements
    • To maintain technical relationships with strategic partners, vendors and suppliers
    • To keep abreast and maintain knowledge of, and report upwards, of new technical developments and offerings in the market place relevant to key portfolio offerings
    • Be the local technical knowledge expert on standard product / capability offerings capable of detail demonstrations, knowledge transfers and best practice advice

    Qualifications:

    Relevant business/professional qualification (e.g. CCDA), or equivalent job experience.

    Skills/Experience:

    • Good sales, interpersonal and analytical skills.
    • Ability to provide specialised technical support in one or more areas and to proactively share knowledge and learning with the virtual team.
    • Leadership skills in managing and motivating if required to manager a virtual team.
    • Recognised as an expert in field.
