Academic Research Internship Programme at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of bachelor of science (NQF 7) in Statistics; (attach transcript)
• New entrants into the statistics environment (in other words, applicants must not have previously worked or held an statistics internship position)
• Knowledge of statistical software such as EVIEWS, SPSS, SAS, STATA, R or Python will be an added advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Particularly Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Good analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills
• Must be a South African citizen

DUTIES

• Assist with Institutional research projects from planning through to reporting
• Support the collection of quantitative and qualitative data for institutional studies
• Assist with Institutional surveys, including questionnaire preparation, data collection and survey administration
• Assist with analysing research findings and preparing research reports
• Assist in compiling Institutional statistical report and performance reports
• Assist in preparing presentations and briefing material for management meetings and Academic committees
• Provide support on Institutional research and data analytics projects
• Participate in Departmental meetings, workshops and training activities
• Maintain project documentation, datasets and analytical records
• Assist with project coordination and administrative activities
• Perform any other duties related to Academic research, data analytics and reporting as assigned by the supervisor
