    To ensure timely and accurate financial accounting of transactions and the reporting thereof in terms of relevance to management on a national basis for the Smollan Group of Companies.

    Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

    Accurate, complete balance sheet

    • Process general ledger journals
    • Reconcile balance sheet accounts to general ledger
    • Solve identified managers’ queries and provide feedback
    • Assist with finalisation and monthly distribution to identified managers
    • Compile balance sheet

    Balance sheet sent to auditors

    • Prepare audit files with copies of balanced general ledger reconciliations
    • Solve queries from auditors relating to management accounts

    Accurate, complete asset register

    • Update asset register on a monthly basis with new assets
    • Obtain copy of documents from creditors and enter onto asset schedules
    • Do depreciation for assets on a monthly basis and input into general ledger
    • Do disposals of F/A as and when F/A are sold. Record entries into general ledger
    • Balance asset schedules and accumulated depreciation to general ledger

    Effective payment of VAT to SARS

    • Extract in and output VAT reports
    • Reconcile VAT to general ledger
    • Execute payment of the correct amount of VAT on or before the 25th of each month

    Customer satisfaction and effective stakeholder management

    • Resolve managers’ queries and follow-up on complaints
    • Provide ongoing feedback (as required)

    Effective teamwork and self-management

    • Follow through to ensure that personal quality and productivity standards are consistently and accurately maintained
    • Demonstrate consistent application of internal procedures
    • Plan and prioritise, demonstrating abilities to manage competing demands
    • Demonstrate abilities to anticipate and manage change

    Minimum Qualifications:           

    • BCOM Finance 

    Minimum Experience:                            

    • 5-6 years related experience in all fields of finance required (full financial function – debtors, creditors, general ledger)
