Accounts Payable Controller at Richemont

MAIN PURPOSE

The Accounts Payable Controller is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial operations. The finance department provides services to multiple brands and service departments, and a strong customer service disposition is therefore required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Capturing of all vendor invoices in the accounting system (SAP) through VIM
• Performance of regular payment runs to vendors
• Monitoring of vendor accounts to ensure payments are made within supplier terms
• Performance of creditor reconciliations
• Calculating and capturing of all accruals at month end   
• Loading of EFT payments on FNB
• Loading of foreign payments on FNB e-forex and preparation of related documents for submission to FNB
• Assisting brand’s and other departments with the AP process and vendor creation in SAP
• Investigation & resolution of internal customer queries
• Investigation & resolution of vendor queries
• Communication with vendors via phone and/or email
• Assisting with month-end closing/reporting
• Allocation/clearing of all payments to vendor accounts in SAP
• Preparation & posting of journals in SAP
• Assistance with ad-hoc requests and projects from the Head of Accounting or Financial Manage

DIMENSION:

• Geographical area under responsibility: South Africa HQ for Sub-Saharan Africa
• Company Scope: 10 Brands, 3 Boutiques and Richemont Departments

Education, and required knowledge and experience:

• 3-5 years accounts payable and general accounting experience
• Relevant degree or diploma
• Knowledge of general accounting principals
• Knowledge of general bookkeeping procedures
• Knowledge of import regulation advantageous (customs/import VAT/Cites)
• MS Packages – Strong Proficiency (Excel)
• SAP Experience non negotiable
• Experience with VIM (vendor invoice management) an advantage
• Knowledge of treatment of VAT on supplier invoices
