    Accounts Payable

    Job Description
    The role

    • We are looking for an Accounts Payable Superviser at our Johannesburg site. The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible to oversee the Accounts Payable function in the Finance Department.  The Accounts Payable department provide financial, clerical, and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.  They are responsible to verify invoices, process all transactions to the correct accounts and cost centre, reconcile vendor payments and make payment to vendors on time.

    In this role you will be responsible for:

    • Oversee the processing of Accounts Payable invoices and payments.
    • Ensure all accounts are paid in accordance with their respective credit terms.
    • Ensure that all invoices are processed in accordance with the South African VAT Act.
    • Review all Accounts Payable reconciliations.
    • Review all Intercompany reconciliations prepared by Centre of Excellence.
    • Review the AP Age Analysis on a weekly basis to ensure that all accounts are maintained in accordance with their payment terms.
    • Assist and resolve all outstanding queries on any Accounts Payable account.
    • Oversee and guide a team of three staff members in the department.

    Qualifications
    About you

    To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

    • General skills in mathematics.
    • An understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting skills.
    • Knowledge of accounts payable and cashbooks.
    • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, both internally and externally.
    • Ability to consistently meet deadlines in a timely manner.
    • Use of judgement and problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
    • 5 - 10 years of experience within the industry is preferable.
