Job Responsibilities

• Lead the actuarial functions focusing on short-term personal lines insurance, especially motor insurance.
• Develop and implement sophisticated risk assessment, pricing, underwriting, and reserving methods.
• Utilize data science abilities to scrutinize data, providing valuable insights that influence crucial business decisions.
• Create models to evaluate potential scenarios and opportunities, furnishing strategic advice to the executive team.
• Contribute significantly to product development and strategic initiatives, leveraging both actuarial and data science skills.
• Play an instrumental role in defining the structure of actuarial functions within the company.
• Remain informed about the latest AI and tech developments and identify opportunities to incorporate them into the company’s actuarial operations.

Preferred Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or a similar field. Professional actuarial qualifications are strongly preferred.
• Significant experience in actuarial work, preferably within the short-term personal lines insurance sector.
• In-depth knowledge of risk assessment, pricing, underwriting, and reserving methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience in data analysis and predictive modelling.
• Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python or R.
• A proactive interest in AI and technology, along with a commitment to keeping abreast of recent advancements in these areas.
• Exceptional communication and leadership abilities, with proven experience in providing strategic advice to senior management.
