Administrative Assistant - (1876) at University of Western Cape

Reporting to the Assistant Accountant Fixed Assets, the role will be responsible for, among others:

• Monitor system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recording of fixed assets.
• Assign bar codes to fixed assets.
• Barcoding of university assets
• Record fixed asset acquisitions.
• Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets.
• Identify and investigate any obsolete assets.
• Conduct periodic impairment reviews for intangible assets.
• Conduct periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assets.
• Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management.
• Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their inquiries.

Minimum Requirements

• Senior certificate
• 2 years relevant experience in fixed assets
• Valid drivers’ license with 2 years driving experience
• Advantageous would be a post matric Diploma, with Accounting as a subject

Experience with the following software will be a distinct advantage:

• Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
• Fixed Assets Register system.
