Advertising Assessment Officer at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• To provide a professional interface/service with the submission, collection and any other process of advertising application assessment, in terms of the relevant bylaws, legislation and policies, throughout the Municipal area of jurisdiction.

This post reports to MANAGER (GENERAL ADVERTISING COMPLIANCE & CONTRACTS MANAGEMENT

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Assess advertising applications in terms of the relevant bylaws.
• Conducting on-site inspections surveying and considering proposals in relation to site conditions.
• Liaise with developers, professional, general public and organs of government, and other departments on advertising matters.
• Ensure that poster and banner advertising conform to the minimum requirements as set out in legislation and policy.
• Undertake administrative processing associated with the Submission of Poster and Banner advertising application.
• Maintain relevant filing and database systems.
• Provide specialist input when supporting special programmes, projects and meetings

Essential Requirements    

• Degree (NQF Level 7) in Town and Regional Planning or equivalent.
• Eligible to register as a technical or Professional Planner with the South African Council for Planners (SACPLAN).
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 3 Years relevant experience.
• Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements    

• Post graduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in Town and Regional Planning or equivalent.
• Eligible to register as a technical or Professional Planner with the South African Council for Planners (SACPLAN).
