Responsibilities

Enterprise Risk Management Implementation

• Assist the Enterprise Risk Management in facilitating on-going enterprise-wide risk assessments and mitigation of risks and ownership in all commercial business units, in line with the MTN SA Risk Management Framework and Methodology. This involves conducting risk assessment workshops, meetings, presentations etc. with Management
• Give input in assessing the current and potential risks to the organisation and monitor and report on risk exposures
• Ensure risk registers are complete and kept updated
• Ensure that risk management is applied according to the Integrated Assurance framework
• Ensure that risk management system (tool) is implemented and fully utilised to automate the risk management process within MTN SA
• Ensure that risk management system data is kept updated and in line with MTN SA Risk Management Framework and Methodology
• Ensure ongoing risk identification, assessment and reporting of risks
• Monitor the application of procedures and processes for Crises prevention and Management in MTN SA and suggest appropriate action to mitigate the risks
• Support project managers with implementation and adherence to the defined Project Risk Management framework
• Ensure appropriate risk escalation to the relevant parties where applicable
• Monitor the status of insurance recommendations and report on status
• Perform regular reviews of the risk processes followed by MTN and its subsidiaries and report on progress
• Conducting thorough market research to stay updated on industry trends, economic conditions, and emerging risks that could impact the organization's risk exposure.
• Providing data-driven insights and recommendations to support risk identification, defining mitigations and risk decision-making
• A Risk Analyst should have strong data analysis skills. This includes the ability to collect, clean, and analyse datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that could impact the organization's risk profile.
• Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• Familiarity with risk management software, data analytics tools, and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL) is advantageous in order to enhance analytical capabilities.

Reporting

• Compile statistical and other reports required within the ERM environment
• Compile monthly management reports
• Compile risk escalation reports as required
• Coordinate the monthly Risk Champion working group meetings and ensure adherence to Risk Management framework
• Training and Support
• Liaise constantly with Managers and Senior Managers on various risk matters especially tracking ownership and mitigation of risk items identified
• Assist with training Risk Champions and the use of risk management tools and software, and liaise with them on an on-going basis regarding Enterprise Risk Management

Customer Service

• Provide support and assistance to stakeholders when required
• Seek feedback from clients/ stakeholders and continuously seeks ways of improving on quality and customer service standards
• Put contingency plans in place to prevent delays and enhance the customer experience
• Adopt a proactive approach to prevent problems from arising in the future
• Initiate change to continually improve all aspects of service delivery
• Ensure all customer queries are attended to and resolved

Qualifications

Education:

• 3-year Degree BCom / Risk Management or related
• Professional qualification in Risk Management with a recognized Professional institution is advantageous (CRM Prac, CRMA, PRM, CRISC)
• Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a risk management function, which must include the following:
• 3 years of conducting risk assessments, developing risk registers and compiling risk reports
• 2 years’ experience working in a large enterprise
• 2 years’ experience in writing written reports to senior management levels
• Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word is required
