Application Integration Architect at Datacentrix

ABOUT

A client in Centurion is looking for an Application Integration Architect - 24 Months contract to lead the conceptualisation and design of enterprise wide application integration architecture and provide enterprise application integration architecture guidance and services guided by the EA principles and policies.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Understand and familiarise with the project’s business requirements
• Understand and familiarise with the proposed conceptual solution business, data and application architecture domains
• Understand and familiarise with the solution architecture meta-model
• Understand and familiarise with the as-is application architecture
• Create a logical integration architecture for the proposed solutions.
• Assist in the creation of the Request for Information documents with regards to the buy solution options
• Create the physical integration architecture for the proposed solution
• Develop and maintain application integration architecture blueprint for the organisation.
• Responsible for developing strategy and roadmap for Integration Architecture in partnership with other ICT architecture domains.
• Plan, coordinate, architect, and supervise all activities related to the integration of software programs, applications, and third-party solutions as required to meet the business requirements of the organisation.
• Lead the integration activities focussing on lightweight integrations across the applications
• Ensure that data transferred both internally & externally is secured.
• Supervise the testing of interoperability of applications modules for in-house developed, COTS and external party solutions as it deemed necessary.
• Evaluate existing interfaces and suggest best practices as we migrate to new technologies.
• Ability to design solutions, enabling micro-services architecture across the organisation.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Relevant Postgraduate Degree in Computer science or equivalent.
• TOGAF certification is a requirement. Knowledge of other frameworks (e.g. Zachman) will be an advantage.
• Sound PC skills including Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
• Experience in Enterprise Architecture tools like Casewise, Visio, Sparx Enterprise Architect.
• At least ten (10) to fifteen (15) years’ experience in developing solution architectural designs
• At least ten (10) to fifteen (15) years’ experience and knowledge of solution architecture development, implementation and integration methodologies
• At least ten (10) to fifteen (15) years’ experience in inter programme ICT Architecture integration across the ICT systems landscapes and application portfolios.
• At least ten (10) to fifteen (15) years’ experience in defining SOA and Application architecture vision, strategy, principles, standards and policies
• Ability to recognise functional interdependencies, to assimilate and correlate disconnected procedures and process, and articulate their collective relevance to the organisation.
• Analyses system requirements and defines system architecture that will meet business needs, including server infrastructure, capacity planning, storage requirements, and networking protocols.
• Solid technical experience in one or more of the following areas: Database architecture, Big Data, Machine Learning, Business Intelligence, Data Governance, No-SQL databases, Advanced Analytics, AI, Data Mining, ETL
• Provide thought leadership, innovation and best practice
• Work collaboratively with other EA team members (domain architects) on the projects to deliver the architecture artefacts and guidance provided from those teams into the programmes and projects
• Review architecture deliverables and artefacts
• Experience in the integration of cloud and on-premise architecture
