Artisan Assistant at Thabazimbi Local Municipality

• BASIC SALARY: Post Level 09 (R215 558,40)per annum. Additional benefits attached to the position are as follows: ((i) Medical aid cover is subsidized by 60% of the total contribution for family members; (ii) Pension fund contribution by Municipality is 18% of basic salary; (iii) Housing subsidy is available on repayment of a bond provided that the house is registered in the name of the employee.
• QUALIFICATIONS: N2 Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Valid Driver's License.
• EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years' relevant working experience.
• KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Laying and connection of underground cables for new electrical installations, cleaning and tinning of conductors, binding, strapping and stripping of individual conductors.
• Assist in digging of trenches and holes. Attending to the erection and installation sequences of poles, cross waves, stays, lines, aerial transformers, switchgear using hand held power tools to drill and mount junction boxes, brackets, cable trays, racks ad tighten screws and bolts. Terminating cables, wires to junction boxes, connecting blocks and/ or terminals including soldering, fitting of lugs and harnessing wires.
