WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
Learning Programs (IST, PWD, Interns, Apps & UL)
- Managing Training Programmes
- Sign off on approved FTE.
- Managing the recruitment process in line with supporting the Employment Equity strategy.
- Onboarding and managing the training plan and document submission.
CHIETA DG & MG application and inflow tracking & Workplace approval
- Validation and timely submission of WSP/ATR reports
- Application and sign off for all Descretionary Grant for relevant planned programmes
- Timely submission of all tranche claims to the SETA
- Tracking the inflow of funding and notification to finance of payments
- Managing renewal of workplace approval for the site
Management of strategic capability programmes
- Develop your site capability plan based on skills assessments and critical skills shortages.
- Work with site HRBP on recommendation on talent agenda based on skills needs and securing necessary training budget to support the implementation of the programmes.
- Leading the Unilever Manufacturing System / UMS programme for People Development.
- Engineering programmes – ensuring the right skills for the factory and manage the artisan assessment process.
- Operator Development programme – support Manex on implementation of WCM programmes such as Run to Standard and UMS. Ensure that there is budget and a strategic plan around technical operator development.
- WL1 Development programmes for Leadership and career development or SC Priority skills development.
Legal compliance and Auditing
- Safety Health Environment Quality - (SHEQ) compliance training – audit and report on SHEQ compliance training and present in monthly Central Safety Health Environment Committee – (CSHEC) meeting.
- Drive accountability and ownership for Standard Operating Procedure- (SOP) / Plan Job Observations- (PJO) compliance with Factory Operations team as well as all legislated trainings to ensure legal compliance.
- Auditing of PJO’s to ensure the right standards are applied.
- Annual review of SOP’s for the site.
- Support site on any site audits (eg Corporate Audit, Quality & Safety Audits)
Training & Development Committee & Employment Equity Committee
- Ownership of Training & Development Committee to ensure regular meetings are held (at least every second month).
- Support HRBP on Employment Equity Committee with regards to skills agenda.
Support Factory Digital agenda and adoption.
- Ownership of the Buildapp People Development Module in terms of maintaining skills matrixes and online capability programmes for frontline workers.
- Promoting and driving digital adoption for the site.
- Driving utilization of online learning programmes in line with global SC Priority skills strategy and role plans.
- Responsible for developing and implementing learning dashboards.
Budgeting and Cost Governance
- Compile training plan based on learning needs analysis and ensure stakeholder engagement and sign off for the required budget for the following year.
- Sourcing of accredited providers and working with Procurement to ensure the right SLA’s are in place for contractual agreements at a competitive price.
- Tracking and reporting on monthly training spend and managing accruals process with finance partner.
BBBEE Compliance and Audits
- Regular quality checks on submission by the Learning Coordinator for BBBEE.
- Track the monthly training spend for internal submission.
- Sign off quarterly internal audit done by the Learning Coordinator for BBBEE.
- Responsible for annual external audit submission for your site.
Training Centre
- Manage the accreditation renewal (Skills Development Provider / Trade Testing).
- Utilisation and upkeep of the facility.
- Ensuring the quality of the programmes being run.
First Line Management of Learning Coordinator
- Provide leadership support and direction for the Learning Coordinator.
Experiences & Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering highly preferred OR Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering OR Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical OR equivalent.
- 3 years working experience in Factory Training in a Technical/ FMCG/ Manufacturing environment.
- Unilever Manufacturing system /Total Productive Maintence / Lean Manufacturing/ Continuous Improvement and Peaople development pillar lead experience preferred.
- Skills Development Facilitator with strong Skills Assessments experience (or willing to study towards)
- Demonstrated ability to work in a highly unionised environment.
- Understanding of SAQA, NQF’s, SETA’s
- Demonstrated strategic thinking to develop a learning needs analysis plan to support the site capability agenda.
