Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e. Diploma/Degree in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse. Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
Experience:
A minimum of 8 years’ appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC.
At least 3 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable experience at management level. Inherent requirements of the job: Valid driver’s licence (Code B/EB) and willingness to travel. Willingness to deal with after-hour calls from the community.
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet). Good communication (written and verbal) skills with ability to manage conflict and knowledge of legislation related 211 to the Health Care Service and policies of the Department of Health. Ability to work effectively and amicably at management level with people of diverse backgrounds and beliefs. Good organisational, interpersonal-, creative problem solving- and research skills, as well as the ability to manage own work (and that of the units which report to the post), and to ensure appropriate interventions to enhance all services at the institution.
