Au Pair | Tokai | R10 500 per month at Au Pair Extraordinaire

• A family is looking for an AU PAIR for their 2 children
• Area: Tokai
• Children’s Ages: 6 year old and 8 years old – Boys  
• Child’s Neurodivergence Snapshot: Eldest son is on the spectrum (High functioning ASD) Most people would not know when meeting with him. But he needs routine, advance notice of plans, has deep anxiousness and is hugely empathetic and stickler for rules. He also thinks deeply and literally. He used to very high sensitivities but that has lessened over the years BUT exposure to too much stimulus e.g. noise, lights etc does trigger episodes. 
• Working hours: Monday – Friday 13:00 – 18:00 (flexibility is needed - times may change slightly due to extra murals)  
• School holiday hours: Same as above / Slightly Flexible
• Duties: School pickups (NB), lunch, ensure homework is done, supper. Then just play with kids in between (maybe outings occasionally). There is also some extra murals that involve drop offs e.g. psychologist. I would like them to help with school planning / admin. Also, bonus would be expanding diet and trying new foods.
• Special Requirements: Someone very reliable, this is the main requirements as dad is a single parent and does not have anyone else to assist with the kids’ duties. The children’s mom passed away in February 2025, the candidate needs to be compassionate as well. Someone patient and understanding of neurodiverse needs. Someone matures and can commit for at least 1 year but hopefully longer too. Someone who make the boys feel safe and loved.  
• Start Date and contract term: Jan 2026 – permanent
• Salary: R10 500pm (Gross, before deductions) + SARS rates per km (R4.76)

All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
• Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
• Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
• Must have a clear criminal record
• Must have a passion for children
• Must have Matric
• Must have a South African ID document.
