Basic Life Support Paramedic (BLS) at Clinix Health Group (Pty) Ltd

Job Summary:

• Responsible for the pre-hospital care, packaging, and transportation of sick and / or injured patients.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Matric
• Basic Life Support (BLS) qualification
• Valid PrDP permit
• Pre-hospital Trauma Life support certification
• 2 years' experience as a BLS 
• Emergency rescue and stabilization
• In-depth knowledge of life saving medical procedures
• Comprehensive understanding of emergency medicine
• Oral Communication
• Customer Service
• Advanced driving
• Intermediate / pre-hospital trauma care
• General sick-call procedures

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Ensure patient treatment according to the HPCSA scope of practice, protocols and guidelines
• Safely drives and operates emergency vehicles and transports patients to hospitals for further care
• Performs medical assistance for sick and / injured patients
• Initiates contact, assesses and documents treatment of all patients under care
• Checks and maintains the ambulance’s emergency equipment
• Operates various medical equipment and apparatuses appropriate to the scope of practice for BLS
• Complies with all requirements for training and licensing as defined by the HPCSA and CHG
