Job Purpose

• Manage the annual budget and planning process by coordinating with senior team and business partners to produce a comprehensive financial forecast.

• Monitor monthly results against budgets & forecasts and provide feedback to senior team and relevant parties on the progress. Provide expertise to other finance

Budget and LE preparation

• Manage the budget and planning process to ensure adherence with annual Colgate budget and planning calendar. The preparation of budgets/forecasts includes volumes, pricing, VFC’s, freight, variances, NVO’s, A&P,reserves and tax.
• Update of B&P financial statements pre and post budget reviews in the SAP BPC systems. Maintenance of monthly P&L results vs the budgets. Build in adjustment to budgeted/forecasted figures after reviews
• To assist in preparation of finance, sales, brand, and profitability review exhibits as well as sending out the pre-reads
• To work with Customers Development Teams (CDTs), marketing and finance departments in developing budgets and estimate P & L’s monthly

Commercial Support

• Review monthly analysis of sku margins by country, highlighting all sku’s below agreed margin hurdles, and proposing appropriate corrective action.
• Provide accurate financial information and leadership to the marketing team as well as giving advice, guidance and support on all financial matters, informing management of any potential issues impacting profitability.
• Perform/Review ad hoc financial feasibility studies on new products, including margin calculations and sourcing changes and advise on profitability.
• Understand the costing process, product cost structures and the relationship to profitability, checking product costs for accuracy.
• Prepare and distribute new products/launches performance KPIs, sales quantity, net sales, margin, and costs.
• Oversee the Management of the advertising and promotions budget, including monthly analysis of A&P actual expenditure against budget.
• Provide financial analysis to support Departments heads in decision making

Controls and Compliance

• Implementation of SOX remediation plan (relating to GTN findings), and SOX testing performed in a timely manner
• MDGM provide Margin and Net Sales data for SKU creation/ Extensions in line with MDGM deadlines
• Review recons on the Accrued Advertising account are performed monthly.

Education
Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Commerce, with Accounting as major or equivalent qualifications

Experience

• Work experience should include at least 5 years in a commercial finance capacity (Sales Finance or FP&A)
• Experience dealing with multiple countries/legal entities a plus
• Expertise should cover FP&A, brand profitailty, cost management and control, ROI, Sales analysis (including product and customer mix), new product financial forecast.

Functional Competencies
Essential

• Computer Literacy: Very strong mastery of Excel is a must (multiple integrated files)
• Solid command of SAP and its modules (Business Warehouse, BPC, PA )
• Good communication skills: written and spoken
• Good knowledge of management accounting
• Broad knowledge of local accounting standards and tax legislation.
• Analytical and conceptual ability – Attention to detail and operating discipline
