Business Control & Efficiency Manager - Midrand at Saint-Gobain

POSITION DESCRIPTION

• As a business control manager, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for internal control, process improvement, and risk management.
• You will be responsible for driving the internal control roadmap for businesses in 12 countries in Africa, working closely with two direct reports.

Job Purpose 

• To ensure that all business processes are designed in such a way that we minimize the exposure of the business to any risk and to secure that we have efficient processes in place
• Work together with the business to ensure alignment of processes to the Saint-Gobain Internal Control Reference Framework (ICRF) and Information Technology Automation (ITAC) reference framework.
• Improve the overall quality of business control in the Region
  • Support businesses in achieving and maintaining an acceptable standard of business control environment
  • Improve the knowledge of business control among all employees in the Region
• Drive the standardization of processes, policies and procedures across the Region
• Initiate process improvements to make best use of digitalisation and automation to continuously improve our processes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Qualifications required to fulfil the role:

• Bcom Degree majoring in all 4 disciplines: Accounting, Audit, Finance and Taxation.
• Chartered Accountant CA(SA) with post articles experience in a manufacturing environment (3 years minimum).
• Chartered Management Accountant (CGMA) with post articles experience in a manufacturing environment (3 years minimum).

Specific Work Experience, Knowledge and Skills required to fulfil the role:

• > 8 years’ experience in total in both industrial and distribution businesses incl prior experience from business control or internal control responsibilities.
• Strong background in business process analysis and risk assessment in different business areas.
• Experience from working in an international context and driving improvement projects.
• Ability to analyse business processes and prepare recommendation for improvements to Senior Management.
• Knowledge of good and bad practices in the different company functions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Strong relationship building skills and networking with different stakeholders
• Pedagogy, humility, and objectivity in performing work and in relations with others.
• Adaptability to different stakeholders, environments, and business requirements
• Quick to understand a new and complex environment and gain the necessary insight.
• Strong in Teamwork and focus on people development.
• Excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail.
• Great working stamina and ability to organize work autonomously.
• Advanced SAP and SAP B1 experience.
• Computer Literate (MS-Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook, TEAMS).
• Excellent command of English. French and/or Portuguese will be an added advantage.
• Willingness to travel (frequent work travel required).
