    Business Development Manager

    Business Development Manager 

    Grapevine is currently looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Commercial team. The Business Development Manager uses their commercial (sales) expertise to sell and present the company’s products, services and solutions to existing and new clients. Our ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator, can demonstrate technology, be able to work towards targets and will have previous experience working within a similar industry, although specific knowledge not essential. The below are the core performance objectives, but is not a full job description and could change on discretion of the company.

    Performance Objectives:

    • Acquisition of New Business (i.e new names) and growth of existing clients.
    • Maintaining relationships with existing clients and build new strategic relationships.
    • Drive the sales cycle from initial client engagement up to deal conclusion (including the negotiations up to signature) and be a fundamental part in ensuring implementation and maintenance of the solution meets the client’s requirements.
    • Develop, maintain and implement key opportunity plans to identify opportunities for Grapevine to deliver value and achieve forecasted sales.
    • Present solutions, including product demonstrations and presentations, writing and present the proposal or any other method required based on the analysis of the current state and an understanding of the desired state the client is looking to achieve within the Grapevine framework.
    • Building, growing and managing your own sales funnel, pipeline and account plans.
    • Identify industry and client-specific requirements through sales engagements to support with complementary product enhancements and offering, including suggestions on market trends and future vision.
    • Research target market requirements, by establishing the key business drivers, determining the barriers to entry and identifying key competitors and to plot this against the Grapevine offering to develop unique selling points.
    • A good acumen for prospecting and deal qualification in all aspects of the sales cycle and deal validation.
    • The ability to have conversations with various stakeholders in the client’s environment ranging from Business, Marketing to Technical Stakeholders.
    • To be the primary business contact to clients as applicable.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • The experience and skill set needed to be successful is a minimum of 5 years sales experience, of which 2 - 3 years of fulltime corporate sales experience (software or ICT Services sales is a plus). In addition, a tertiary business diploma or bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.

    • Has a competitive spirit, high motivation, resilience and ambition to succeed – individually and as a team.
    • Possess well-developed communication and collaboration skills with the ability to build influential relationships and deliver results in a cross-functional environment in a commercially feasible manner.
    • Ability to multi-task, take initiative, prioritise, and manage time effectively. 
    • Strong business acumen.
    • Ability to have a solution-driven approach by using various core capabilities of Grapevine’s products and services to client-specific requirements.
