    Junior Electrician x2

    Job description

    The main purpose: To ensure that the property of the CTICC is suitably maintained to a five-star standard and looked after on a daily basis. Provide and/or ensure that there is suitable and appropriate planned, preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance for all electrical and plant equipment.

    Reporting to the: Electrical Technician

    Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

    • Installs, services and repairs lighting fixtures, electrical distribution board panels, electrical and operating equipment, fire alarms, controls, outlets and wiring.
    • Routine maintenance and data recording for fault diagnosis, corrective and preventive maintenance, condition monitoring and installation of electrical and electronic equipment.
    • As required perform general maintenance tasks and perform tasks other than maintenance duties to appropriately lead and transfer skills to junior colleagues.
    • Maintaining of all HT and LT switch gears.
    • Ensuring that all relevant documentation is completed and checked daily.
    • Ensuring servicing of generators is conducted on a quarterly basis.
    • Maintain and improve BMS function and field devises attached to the electrical function.
    • Maintaining of all electrical panels and kitchen equipment.
    • Identify all maintenance concerns and provide the line manager with regular written and/or verbal feedback as required.
    • Monitoring, identification, and control of the performance outputs of sub-contractors and their staff in accordance with the health and safety policy an applicable legislation.
    • Develop and maintain the maintenance schedule for the CTICC and ensure adherence thereof, using the appreciate maintenance schedule tools available.
    • Assist in the preparation of risk assessments and method statements, health and safety inspections and documentation, as well as quality or environmental output as may be required from time to time.
    • Installation of remote distribution boards for functions and events to comply with local regulation. (COC).
    • Proficient knowledge with the wiring of single phase and 3 phase DB boards from start to finish.
    • Proficient knowledge of all types of electrical wiring from 1 way to intermediate wiring.
    • Proficient knowledge of fault finding, with and without the use of an insulation tester.
    • Experience and proficient knowledge when it comes to general household maintenance, repairing plugs, various ranges of light fittings etc.
    • Knowledge of repairs to ovens and stoves.
    • Knowledge of repairs of geyser elements and thermostats.
    • Must know how to work with conduit piping.
    • Experience working with power tools such as angle grinders.
    • Proficient knowledge of the electrical rules and regulations pertaining to electrical compliance certificates, must know how to check an installation for a compliance inspection.
    • Respond to 24 hour emergency callouts.

    Administrative duties:

    • Asset checking and updating record.
    • Preventative maintenance updating and scheduling.
    • Assisting with HACCP and ISO auditing by proactively working through the building.
    • As and when required venue checking will be part the function.
    • It will also be required to work with the events team shifts.
    • Assisting with tender evaluations and SCM matters.

    Job requirements

    Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

    • Matric or equivalent (NQF Level 4)
    • Must have an Electrical Trade Certificate
    • 3-5 years’ experience in the maintenance environment
    • N3 or higher Electrical Certificate or equivalent
    • Experience and knowledge of high voltage is an advantage
    • Driver's license essential

    Commis Chef - Cape Town

    Job description

    The main purpose: Assist the Demi Chef de Partie with preparation, cooking, and storage of all food items in the allocated kitchen (i.e.be it the cold or hot kitchen). Must be knowledgeable about the section of the kitchen they are responsible for. Must adhere to all Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations. Must demonstrate and maintain high levels of customer service that consistently exceeds the expectations of our guests.

    Reporting To The: Demi Chef de Partie

    Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

    • Ensure all the mis-en-place is prepared on time and kept fresh.
    • Responsible for the cooking of the food.
    • Ensure have all the required resources and supplies (e.g., knives, boards, spices, vegetables etc.) at the cooking stations.
    • Ensure all food is prepared as per the approved menu and per set standards.
    • Ensure all food preparation stations are kept clean and staff in the kitchen are adhering to hygiene and health standards.
    • Assist the Demi Chef de Partie in preparation and checking for health and hygiene in the kitchen.
    • Report any arising problems or complaints to the Demi Chef de Partie.
    • Ensure that all ISO 22000 regulations are adhered to, and documents are completed. correctly and filed in the correct files e.g., temperature log sheets, personal hygiene log sheet etc.
    • Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers.
    • Basic knowledge of best cooking practices.
    • Report any maintenance issues to the Demi Chef de Partie.
    • Manage the operating equipment used within the respective allocated kitchen station.
    • Ensure only clean and safe equipment (no chips on the plates etc.) is used all the time.
    • To monitor stock movement and be responsible for requesting for additions for their section
      when running out.
    • Keep the necessary record of breakages and losses and report to the Chef de Partie.
    • Ensure minimum kitchen wastage.
    • Make sure that all the OE (Kitchen smalls) are handed to stores before staff sign out.
    • Make sure that storerooms are packed neatly.
    • Manage all kitchen equipment and report all broken or non-functional equipment to the
      Chef de Partie.

    This position is based on an hourly paid salary structure.
